The short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no advertising trackers, and the calculator never sends your answers anywhere. If you give us your email address, we use it to send you the newsletter and nothing else.

Everything the solar calculator does happens inside your own browser. Your postcode, your bill, your household size, your appliances — none of it is sent to us, and none of it is stored. Close the tab and it's gone.
There is no account, no sign-in, and no "enter your details to see your results". You can use the whole tool, download the PDF report, and leave without telling us who you are.
The one exception is the optional tickbox under the report offering the newsletter. If you tick it and enter an email address, that address goes to our newsletter system — see below. Nothing else from the calculator goes with it.
We collect your email address. That's it. We don't ask for your name, and we don't require one.
We use it to send you the newsletter. We also record the ordinary things an email system records — whether a message was delivered, opened, or clicked — so we can tell whether the newsletter is any good and whether our emails are arriving.
We will never sell your email address, rent it, or pass it to a third party for their own marketing. No exceptions, no "trusted partners".
Every email has an unsubscribe link and it works immediately. You can also email jason@futerra.ai and ask to be removed, and we'll do it and confirm.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It is cookieless: it doesn't set a cookie, doesn't follow you across other websites, and doesn't build a profile of you.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook pixels, advertising trackers, session recording, or heatmaps.
As of the date above, this site sets no cookies at all and stores nothing in your browser's local storage. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Each of these is a service provider acting on our instructions. None of them get your data to use for their own purposes.
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email jason@futerra.ai and we'll respond.
For a subscriber, the honest answer to "what do you hold about me" is usually: one email address, the date you subscribed, and whether you've opened recent emails.
This site isn't aimed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If we start collecting something new, we'll change this page and date it. If the change is significant and you're a subscriber, we'll tell you in the newsletter rather than quietly updating a page nobody reads.
If you think we've mishandled your information, email jason@futerra.ai first — we'd rather fix it. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
